In
1984, true to Aspen's do-it-yourself, entrepreneurial spirit,
Tim opened Aspen Tile. We were -- and remain -- Aspen's only local
tile store. Word traveled fast, and we quickly earned a reputation
for dedication to craft and integrity in business. Aspen Marble
followed two years later, adding marble, granite and random stone
to the fledgling company's offerings.
Can
an East Coast stone mason find happiness in the Colorado high
country? Seems so. A mason since the age of 16, Tim Fortier chased
the powder snow out to Aspen in 1979. With him he brought a passion
for tile and stone, and a knack for innovation.

Our
company:
Now
well into our second decade, Aspen Tile has grown into a versatile
team of over 40 local designers, craftsmen and support personnel.
We carry a vast and unusual array of decorative masonry materials,
foreign and domestic, including the hard-to-find tile you're looking
for.
Our
world-class local workshops allow us
to offer unparalleled service to the Roaring Fork Valley's discerning
customers. Visit the Aspen Tile & Bath Gallery on 465 North
Mill Street for an eye-opening sampler of what we can do. Part
design headquarters, part showroom, part art museum, the gallery
is a treasure chest of custom interior and exterior designs and
exotic materials -- an ideal place for local architects, designers
and decorators to shop for inspiration. Find something you like
-- we guarantee you will -- then let us help make your vision
reality.
Our
services:
We
work directly with the Italian mosaic glass importer, the stone
quarry, or the local tile artist. We'll build the structural and
decorative elements you require, and finish the job to the most
exacting specifications. Need a fancy ogee or cornice detail?
Cut-to-order stone and custom installation are our specialties.
We
bring you the best of the old and the new. Our shops boast over
$800,000 in state-of-the-art tooling, but we know you're also
looking for intricate detailing that can't be done by even the
most expensive machine. Our craftsmen take special pride in their
ability to work by hand.
Our
competition may come and go, but we're right here in downtown Aspen
ready to meet your custom stone and tile needs. Browse our web catalog
or our Mill Street gallery, then let us show you the kind of craftsmanship
that's kept us on top since 1984.
